Character Archetypes
An archetype is a classification used for categories generally used for summarizing how they fight in a battle[1]. It is used primarily by original characters, and written in their infobox. Characters can fit into multiple archetypes, should be limited to 1 or 2.
Combat
- Skirmisher
- Aggressive fighters that can jump directly in the fray of a battle. Relatively fragile, but make up for it with their agility and strength.
- Brusier
- Combatants that can both deal and take a lot of damage.
- Marksman
- Fights from a distance using bows or long-ranged artillery magic.
- Duelist
- An individual that fights best in a one-on-one fight, typically due to abilities that can only affect one person at a time.
- Warden
- Defensive tanks that excel at neutralizing aggression.
- Assassin
- Highly-trained specialists that are best at quickly dispatching high-priority targets.
- Champion[2]
- A character that is signficantly stronger when fighting alone, possibly due to a power that indiscriminately harms whoever is nearby, or with a power that is so strong that it can harm nearby allies if used at full potency.
- test
- meow
Non-Combat
This list describes characters that are not known for their fighting capabilities.
- Academic
- An educated commoner. Predominantly used for someone familier with magic and the greater world.
- Commoner
- Someone who is not a noble, nor has any magical or divine attunements.
- Not to be confused with the idea of a civillian. Commonors can (and often have to) fight.
The archetypes used are primarily taken from the game League of Legends, which groups its characters into distinct classes. ↩︎
Based off of the fanfiction Forged Destiny by Couer al Aran, where one of the characters (Pyrrha) has a class of the same name that gives them buffs and powers that work better when she fights alone. ↩︎
